Terms of Service
Effective October 10, 2026
These terms govern use of the Trace service at trace.luiz.ink. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Trace. You must be legally able to accept these terms under the laws that apply to you.
The service
Trace provides a private workspace for connecting multiple Gmail accounts and synchronizing read-only message metadata. It is an evolving service. Full message bodies, attachments, and sending are not currently supported. Features, availability, and import limits may change.
The current cache covers up to 5,000 messages per mailbox within a rolling 30-day window. Trace is not an email backup, archival service, or replacement for access to your email provider. Keep access to your original Gmail accounts.
Your account and connected mailboxes
Provide accurate account information and protect your password and active sessions. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact the operator if you suspect unauthorized access.
Connect only mailboxes you own or are authorized to access. Google sign-in and Gmail authorization are separate. You can disconnect Gmail or revoke Google access at any time. Google’s services and authorization are subject to Google’s own terms and policies.
Disconnecting removes local authorization tokens and stops synchronization, but cached metadata is retained. Account and cache deletion currently require a request to the operator. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Acceptable use
- Use Trace lawfully and respect the privacy and rights of other people.
- Do not access another user’s workspace or connect accounts without permission.
- Do not bypass access controls, misuse credentials, disrupt the service, or impose abusive automated traffic.
- Do not use the service for fraud, unlawful surveillance, or other unlawful activity.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or violations of these terms.
Your data and intellectual property
You retain any rights you have in your account and mailbox data. You authorize Trace to process that information only as needed to provide the features you request and as described in the Privacy Policy. These terms do not transfer ownership of your email to Trace.
The Trace software, branding, and other service materials remain subject to their owners’ rights. Using the hosted service does not grant rights to redistribute or commercially host the source code. The repository’s source-available license and third-party licenses govern use of the software separately.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to operate Trace reliably, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, complete synchronization, or error-free operation. Provider limits, authorization changes, maintenance, and outages may affect the service. The current service is provided as available, without additional warranties to the extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use Trace. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable mandatory consumer rights.
Ending use and changes
You may stop using Trace at any time. To end mailbox access, disconnect your accounts and revoke Google authorization. To remove your account and cached data, contact the operator. Suspension or service shutdown does not itself guarantee deletion of retained data; retention is explained in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms as the service changes. Updated terms will show a new effective date, and material changes will be communicated where required. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
